Great cycling computer! Everything i need!

  2. Alberto –

My last Bolt stopped working all of a sudden, think something happened when tried to charge it, however it was a no brainer I needed to replace it with a like unit. The app makes setting up your Home Screen easy to do. You can now control your music from the unit. Sensors are easy to pair. I also have the rival watch and the Roam. I use this unit for MTB due to slimmer profile and the roam for road. Only downfall is sometimes takes awhile for the rival to connect for pulse rate. Works great with SRAM Eagle AXS gears to show battery as well as which gear in. Can connect to multiple sports-tracking apps as well.

  6. S. P. Sapers –

I’m very happy with the Bolt V2, which is an upgrade from my Garmin Edge 500. I know that is old tech, but it doesn’t change how delighted I am by how well the Bolt just works. It picked up my Garmin sensors, it was easy to sync to Ride with GPS, the buttons are easy to use on the fly and with gloves and the screens, while not as customizable, just work. There was clearly a lot of design thought behind the UI and for my use, they nailed it. I was amazed how it adjusted to a loaded route on the fly without the need to acknowledge the change or mess around with my phone. I am so glad to be able to relegate my phone to my jersey pocket and just ride.

  7. Broseph –

As someone who’s entrenched in the Garmin ecosystem (head unit, watch, scale), i was a bit reluctant to get a wahoo but i had to for my son to train on real courses on kickr since Garmin gets stuck in ERG mode.

Not only does this unit work perfectly with kickr, it does a great job simulation real world courses.

The best part is the array of color-changing LEDs at the top, which are bright enough to see in sunlight. I have it set to display 3s power for my son and it is so awesome i may have to get wahoo myself!

  8. Clement –

  9. MFD14534 –

This cycling computer works very well. You customize all of the screens and even add new ones. It seems to be pretty accurate with the exception of elevation. Elevation seems to always be wrong. For example, when starting a ride at a known elevation of 14′ the Bolt reads 77′. When I return to that same point at the end of the ride, the elevation is now 90′.

The ability to customize the screens (pages) is a big plus. Not only can you control exactly what is displayed, you can make the font bigger by limiting the number of items displayed on a screen.

Battery life is very good. I would guesstimate around 14 hours of on time.

It interfaces very well with my Specialized Turbo Vado ebike.

There are some issues. Screen navigation isn’t that great. You can only “scroll” in one direction. It would be nice if you could scroll back and forth or toggle between two screens like I can on my iGPSport computer. There should be a way to “mute” a Varia radar. If you are in traffic and the radar is constantly signaling a car behind you, the warning chimes become very obnoxious. Sometimes the screen is difficult to see. This is especially true if you are wearing sunglasses and the screen is being shaded by your body.

  10. kriss –

covers all i needed on a bike computer — next the cadence combo.. battery life is durable too.

  11. Jose Moreno-Pinete –

Love using the wahoo. I like the summit segments. Connectivity to phone is easy. The live tracking feature is helpful. Connectivity to strava live segments is great. Downloading and following a created route is easy. The directions are clear and the map is accurate. Even when getting off course for construction or whatever reason, the ability to get you back on course is great. I visited Belgium on a bike trip. Obviously not familiar with the country or the roads, I mapped several routes through the Flandrien countryside and followed them all without getting lost once. Allowed me to enjoy the rides and the countryside without worrying about the route and where I was going knowing that I did the route work upfront and it was done correctly and the device properly displayed everything.

  12. Alberto –

Me gustó mucho muy fácil de usar.

  13. Gillian –

V2 of the Elemnt Bolt is a great upgrade from my original V1. This tiny little device is so easy to use and provides a wealth of information for mileage tracking, training, and navigation.

  14. Amazonian Consumer –

Replaced my old Bolt even though it was still functioning quite well. Battery was dying after 11 years. Good price. Better screen than v1. Buttons are easier to use. Good battery life.

  15. Emre Nevonen –

Works great. Bouns, it has a lovely oldschool sounds.

  16. Richard –

Wonderful screen. Like a Kindle – just so visible in all lights. Perfect.
Found my sensors instantly – e-bike , cadence, AXS gears and HR. Found them paired them done.
As many screens as you want entirely chosen by you. You then zoom in and they get bigger, losing the bottom fields. So you choose the priority of them with most important at the top. V clever.
Buttons easy to press and mounts v solid.
    Has temperature which is nice.
Nav is fine and screen, volume and leds all make it much easier than a garmin watch or Apple Watch ultra sized device.
Log in and export to Strava was the work of moments. It imports my routes straight away and exports workouts to Strava and then syncs with apple health. Simples.
Device easy to navigate but companion app is obviously much easier and the changes are reflected in the device instantly. You can literally set up the info pages in app while watching them change on device.
I’ve very chuffed after first few rides.
And don’t worry about small screen. Any bigger will just get smashed and the visibility of it is absolutely outstanding.

  18. Paul J Plofchan –

Simple to use, long battery life, competitive price.

  19. Glider Pilot 2 –

I have been using the version 1 and have been very happy with it but the version 2 is even better! The buttons are much easier to use and give a better feel. The extra color on the screen is very nice and being able to highlight a data field is great. Still a great product for a reasonable price.

  20. Amazon Customer –

My husband and I have both been running the old model, I bought this one for my husband for his birthday and he’s in love with it. He loves the color screen, the climb feature that tells him how long is left for the climb, and that he can control music on his phone through it. He doesn’t like that it tells him how many calories he’s burning, but thinks he can probably turn off that setting somewhere.

  21. Alex Yun –

    Great device! Works amazingly

  22. mg111 –

For the purposes of full disclosure I’ve always used Garmin and been satisfied with them. There are definitely some flaws and quirks but their products have been well made, last and do what they’re supposed to.

With that out of the way I recently began using Wahoo’s fitness program, WahooX for their workout plans. They’ve been great so at least Wahoo got that right. I wish I could say the same for their tech.
When Amazon prime had a deal on the latest Elemnt Bolt I bought it because of the alleged ease at which you could download their programs to the computer and take their program workouts outside off the trainer.

Turns out this is not the case. The Bolt itself is OK. Nothing spectacular about its build. Its rather thick and chunky but also light. It also does not feel as well built as garmin counterparts but so far no glaring defects. Battery life isn’t spectacular but is acceptable. The screen is definitely not as good as my older garmin edge 830.

Now back to the reason I purchased it in the first place. Wahoo has an app for their workout plans called wahooX. It has a calendar with scheduled workouts and you may add to it as well. A few years ago Wahoo began adding a corresponding outdoor version of all their workouts. This was a great idea and effort. When using a Wahoo unit (either the Bolt or Roam), you pair it with your phone that has the app on it and synch the unit. The scheduled workout is supposed to appear in your “planned workouts” on the head unit.
It doesn’t work. At least not on my unit. I’ve tried everything I can in trouble shooting, install and uninstall the app, reset the head unit, etc. Nothing works. So the ONLY reason I purchased it for doesn’t work.
Perhaps this is a fluke but I don’t think so. Either way I’m tired of these companies releasing mediocre products with software problems, and tech problems that make you jump through hoops to get them to work.

Edit: updated my review and my rating. After uninstalling and reinstalling the companion app I did a factory reset of the wahoo bolt itself. Removed it from the phone’s log. Went through set up from the very beginning including the QR code that shows up on first start up on the Wahoo unit. This time I was given more prompts about my demographics and my preferred units of measurements(ie miles vs km, Fahrenheit vs C) which did not occur the first time I set it up. I also was prompted to perform a software update on the wahoo bolt. After this update the wireless from Wshoo system X synch with the Wahoo head unit and the dudes can be taken outside.
I’ve also gotten to rude with it outside. I’m pretty pleased. Really liked how it used its programs maps to know there was a climb ahead, calculate its grade, and show the distance to the summit. Battery did well as well and for some reason performed better than indoors but thar may be a result of the software update.
So overall I’m pleased and septic definitely tell others to give the Wahoo units some thought if in the market for a new one. There are definitely things I prefer with garmin but also areas where I prefer Wahoo.
Still only giving it a 4 because of the problems at start up. The inconvenience of having to re-pair all the sensors is only that… an inconvenience. However the fact that I didn’t get a software update initially is disturbing. Makes me wonder about the quality of the overall product

  23. Max –

  24. Lawrence Brown –

Great item for the cost! gives you the necessary tracking you need and has added features if you want them. easy to connect to my phone and for sensors to connect too.

  25. Giovanni Barbera –

    Ti svolta gli allenamenti

  26. Jslon –

Simple, reliable and easy to use. The automatic pause/start feature is very useful. It’s easy to read even in bright sunlight. Recommended.

  27. Arthur Hauer –

I’ve had this one for several years and works great. Wahoo is the go to brand for our bike club. It’s easy to download maps from Ride with GPS. I can see phone numbers and text messages on the screen while I ride. Solid product.

  28. Dale –

Good cycling computer for entry level. I use it on my daily workouts. The battery life per charge is very good, I charge every 14 – 15 rides depending on the ride length. For organized rides I can load in the route and have turn by turn gps. Easy integration with Strava. If you don’t need the latest-greatest, this will be good for you.

  29. Trolltunga –

Anbringung an eher dicken MTB-Lenker kein Problem.

    Bolt ELEMNT-App Drittanbieter-App (Komoot, Strava, Health, …)

    + Funktionsumfang top
    + Montagemöglichkeiten und Halterung top
    + Akkuleistung top

    Good mid level bicycle computer.

  32. Randy –

This is my second one. I misplaced my first (but found it after this one arrived). The original.was great. This one is even better.

  33. John Millard –

I purchased this after returning a Garmin 530. The Wahoo is better in almost every way, except one: The user interface and menus are bright and clear and easy to navigate, even without a touch screen. Battery life is exceptional. A typical 1 hour ride ends with 92% battery life remaining. The fonts and screen resolution is easy to read and see even under high noon sunshine and the automatic backlight comes in handy when the light starts to fade or you go under dense trees. The auto upload to Strava and Apple Health is flawless and quick. The only quibble is that the out front bar mount seems a bit flimsy compared to the one on the Garmin. The EDGE also doesn’t control lights via the new ANT+ lighting protocol for smart lights. That’s something that Wahoo needs to fix.

  34. Richard –

Setup was easy, connecting sensors was fast. Provides all the rider info I need along with GPS tracking that gives me what I need on my local rides. It’s best feature is the screen. It has been visible and clear in all the lighting condition (mostly early morning) that I have encountered. Would buy again.

  3. sylvain –

Excelente.
