So I quickly learned after getting the watch a few days ago to go into the watch’s settings, click battery, and turn on the battery saver. To have your watch come on, you gently tap the screen or press the crown button. This has greatly improved the battery life. But YOU shouldn’t have to do that with a watch that costs this much.
On the plus side, you can change just about every setting imaginable, and the Fitbit is a nice touch (despite most of the good features behind a subscription service). That’s called Google greed. You’ll get used to it. They’re a monopoly for a reason. Using it to make and receive calls is awesome. Got a call the other day and was able to talk as I washed the dishes. No earbuds are required. The person who called me said the audio was great.
I highly recommend this if you don’t mind the craptacular battery life. I’m surprised they didn’t fix it with a software update. Something is feasting on the power. Or they went with the lowest bidder for parts.
Oh, if you have fat fingers or medium-sized ones, forget about the keyboard. LOL. You’ll need a stylus (yes they work). The speech-to-text is very good but you have to remember to say “period” or “comma” when composing messages. If you don’t, it’ll be one long sentence without proper punctuation. You can even say “heart emoji” and it’ll insert that. You can also go back and edit the message with your fingers and use the keyboard to correct mistakes. I’ll update my review if needed and the longer I use it. Oh, the ECG works and is very cool. Even the sleep monitor caught my apnea.

I had to replace my aging Galaxy S3 Frontier which is at it’s end of life. I love that watch! I was going to get either a Galaxy S6 Pro or a Pixel Watch 2. After much soul searching, I knew I had to make a decision. so the gambler in me decided to try something new. I’m glad I did!
Now clearly, a watch released less than 6 months ago is going to out perform one released 6 or 7 years ago. But the improvement in performance is remarkable.
It’s faster responding, pairs quickly and easily with my Pixel 6a smartphone, and has superior software.
It’s really the software that makes the smartwatch useful and productive. And to Samsung’s credit, they kept my old war horse’s software current. But, the Fitbit software is much more modern than Samsung Health. It can scan barcode label on food packages when I record what I eat and it is much more flexible in terms of how the nutrient servings list is recorded. And that means less manual calculations when trying adjust servings from grams to, say, ounces.
Heart monitoring is more accurate, stair climbing is much more accurate, and sleep monitoring is actually usable. It might be the advancements in sensor quality rather than the software algorithms. But I do trust the results more.
Charging the battery is FAST. I get about 36 hours of life from the battery, on about 45 minutes of charging. Twenty minutes of charging while I shower in the morning will give me about 12 hours of battery life. The wireless magnetic charger is a little different from the Samsung watch, but it is very functional. The user needs to make sure that the crown and stem is parallel to the power cord, and once the watch is about an inch away from the charger, the charger is drawn to the watch magnetically and it leaps up and connects to the watch. This is not BS on my part, it happens everyday. Only once has this connection not been made perfectly.
The PW 2, is smaller and lighter, physically. It’s about the size of a traditional men’s mechanical dress watch. My ancient eyes can see the slightly smaller screen with ease. My arthritic gorilla fingers akso have no problem manipulating the screen. It is comfortable to wear long term, even to bed, for sleep monitoring. It offers a more classy and elegant appearance than the larger and sportier S6 Pro.
I was comfortable with the new user interface within a day or two; so I think people coming from another brand won’t have a huge learning curve. Like the Pixel Smartphones, Google uses a simple and uncluttered interface that I found very intuitive.
I am quite pleased with my purchase, and can recommend it to others.

En fait cette montre dépasse mes attentes, elle est conviviale, un écran tactile, des applications vraiment utiles et à prix intéressant pour ce qu’elle permet de faire. Connectivité facile aussi.

I had been using the watch for a few months and with each upgrade Google make really good improvements, on the software that’s give you a better user experience. However, the only thing that is really bad, in comparison with all the companion sports apps that other smartwatches have is Fitbit… Come on!! A really good watch with a poor app…
Kate –
Obsessed with my pixel watch. I am a pixel phone user as well, so love that it connects with my Google fit and my Fitbit app. Lots of apps available on it, as well as phone answering and texting. Gps works great! I use it mostly to track my vitals and workouts. But my ring camera also connects to it and shows me when someone is at my door. Only negative is that the battery doesn’t last long–maybe a day and a half. However, it charges quickly and I just set it on the charger while I do my makeup and get ready for my morning and it’s almost fully charged by then. Lots of clock face customization too.

This is both my first Pixel Watch (former Apple Watch 8) and first serious review as I have quite a bit of experience with smartwatches. The Pixel Watch brings so much to the table that you didn’t thinknyou needed, but falls short in small areas. Here’s what I think 2 weeks in:
Pros:
– The Display: It’s vibrant, bright, clear and (unfortunately tested against doorknobs and washing machines) quite durable.
– Durability: As with the display, it seems very well constructed.
– Home integration: it’s seamlessly integrated into the quick access menu and there a widget for a larger view. It works very well for controlling simple devices (best with lights, smart switches), more complex devices (volume control on a specific device, use of the remote on the watch, etc) is best left to your phone.
– Fitbit feature integration: truly the proper implementation of fitness on a watch. The customization of the menus, the wide widget choice, and face options create a personal experience.
Meh:
– Battery life: It’s very much average for battery. I find it’s slightly better than the Apple Watch 8. Remember that it’s a smartwatch so 24 hour battery life is the limit (Apple Watch as a competitor hits the same mark for $200 more).
– Fitbit Premium: Thankfully it comes with a year free, but paying extra for possibly irrelevant data may not be worth it for you.
– Strap Connector: It serves it function, but if it’s not on your wrist it clicks as though it’s not secured fully. It always is so that not a worry though the noise when using other straps can give it a cheap feel.
– Software: A 90% complete product is phenomenal but some of that 10% is basic. Assistant at times will not connect, your watch can unlock your phone but not the other way around (it’s been locked for hours on my arm without noticing – it doesn’t buzz or notify). Can use some polishing.
–
Cons:
– Charging: it’s fast which is ideal, but it needs to be set exclusively in ONE way (as shown in the photo). I’ve missed a few charges by not lining it up properly.
– Strap Selection: if you’re like me, you’re immediately thinking of the band you want before your watch arrives. The selection is unfortunately very low in quantity and quality. There are some good ones out there, but they can be expensive (if in Canada, import fees are added as most come from the US).
– Original band sizing: It seems as though, for those with smaller wrists, each rung is either too loose or way too tight. It’s personal of course, but forms a lower quality first impression.
– Watch Faces: using 3rd party apps uses quite a bit of battery and resources, slowing things down. The selection from their options are 90% analog (due to the round shape), which can be cluttered or boring.
– Quick Menu: the one area you can’t customize is the one you would most want to. For now, there are quite a few functions (water lock, theatre mode, lock mode, auto brightness on/off) are specific from person to person, but cannot be changed. Boo Google, boo.
I would buy it again, but Google is known for having hardware issues down the road so we’ll see how it holds up. Nothing is perfect, so still 5 stars!
Keagan Peterson –
Simply a great watch… Very efficient… The only down side is the battery doesn’t last long enough and the other products related to it is overpriced.

I just received my watch, I am thrilled to use it! Sleep tracking works, charges fast, easy to use. I went with black on black because I’m not a fan of silver, and I love the look/color. The watch face I selected is bright enough, but not overwhelming. Definitely seems like a great value for the money, but time will tell.
Update: 11/22/24- so I’ve had this watch for one month now and I absolutely love it. The only thing I would say that is negative about it, is it needs charged a lot… But other than that I am so happy with my purchase.

Upgrading from an old Galaxy Gear S2 to the Pixel Watch 2 has been a pretty drastic change, some of the features I really like, some not so much.
To start off, the battery life is reasonable. I don’t use always on display, and I’m not constantly getting notifications (I’m selective as to what pushes to my watch) and I get 2 full days of use out of it. Charging is quick and I usually plug it in while I have a shower and drink my morning coffee.
The fitness tracking is great and accurate, however what I strongly dislike is the need for a Fitbit subscription. It did come with 1 year for free, but I’ll be curious to see how functional it really is after that subscription ends.
Sleep tracking is just okay in my opinion, it often tracks me reading a book as being asleep. I get that I’m not moving much during that time, but my old watch never made that mistake.
One handy feature is the ability to download music to the watch so I can listen while on a walk and don’t need to take my phone. Being phone free is really nice sometimes. I just got a pair of pixel ear buds (yes, I’m fully bought into the Google eco system now) and the switching between phone and watch is seamless.
Overall, I’m happy with the watch, but for the price, I kind of expected a more premium experience vs. my old Samsung and I’m just not feeling like it was that big of an upgrade considering how many years the two devices are apart.

I bought this smartwatch as a gift for my husband. The design and color I chose are neutral and beautiful, and they go well with my husband’s style and personality.
Among the positive things my husband highlighted about the watch are its easy integration with his smartphone, which is also a Pixel. It tracks sleep cycles and exercise routines quite well, which helps you stay fit and regulate your sleep routines.
Among the negatives is the battery life, which doesn’t last more than 24 hours.

I’m really liking this smartwatch. I upgrade from a Versa 2 after the battery have out, so it has been a good upgrade.
The first day I wore it, the battery life wasn’t great. I don’t think I even made it 24 hours before needing to recharge it, but that was before I did an update. The next day, I still had 40% battery or so by the time I charged it. I had also turned off Always on Display, so that in combination with the update greatly improved the battery and I’ve had no trouble getting through a day. Now I charge it for around half an hour before bed to bring it back to full charge.
I haven’t had a chance to use the LTE feature, unfortunately. My cellphone carrier does not support Android smart watches, but all of the other features of the watch are great. Getting all of my phone notifications on my watch are really convenient, and much more comprehensive than they were on the Versa. I still have most of the Fitbit features that I love, however. The only thing I miss is the Smart Wake alarm feature.
The Pixel Watch 2 screen is very nice and responsive. The feature that allows you to turn your arm to wake the screen seems to be more consistent than on the Versa 2.
Being able to view your phone camera on the screen is also a cool feature allowing you to take better group shots. I also like that the watch can play sounds now, like music or notifications.
Overall, I’m very pleased with this upgrade.

I love everything about this watch! When I first got it, every morning when I woke up I had to edit my sleep time as it always records me being awake 30 minutes to an hour before I was. After wearing it for a bit though, it seems to have gotten a lot better. Maybe it just needs some time to get to know your patterns. Now, I just couldn’t be happier! I love the customization, with this watch, especially how I’m able to choose which stats show during workouts. Battery is actually good (at least for someone like me – use the tap to wake feature and don’t use GPS). I charge it to 80% nightly and it’s usually still at 35-40% 24 hours later. It’s also extremely sleek looking and the perfect size. I’m a woman so a big reason I chose this watch is because it’s smaller than a lot of the newer ones. I hope pixel continues making similar watches so I can stick with them in the future. Highly recommend!

I tried the Samsung Galaxy 5 Pro watch, then the Galaxy 6 watch, then the FitBit Sense 2, and finally this Google Pixel Watch 2. Of all of them, Pixel Watch 2 is by far the best I have used to date, including comfort, style, and most especially the intuitively designed app. It’s extremely easy to use, it pairs with my phone and smart devices very easily, and the OS is incredibly responsive (all the others were very slow and sometimes glitchy, though I respect the Sense 2 for being measurably less so than the Samsung models). I’m usually a Samsung fanatic, and have been skeptical about Google hardware for many years, but after reading countless reviews, I finally decided to give the 2 a chance, and I’m very glad I did. It is very rare for me to fall immediately in love with any technology, and I am a very “picky eater” as a tech professional. The fact that Google is integrating the cutting-edge sensors of FitBit (after the M&A) with this crisp, intuitive OS may play into what I feel is a “best of both worlds” situation here. I’m not sure whether I’ll try the Pixel phones again (years back I was unimpressed with an early iteration), but this watch is making me think that Google might have learned an awful lot since then, and I may have to give their Pixel another chance. In any case, I FINALLY have a smartwatch that I love after weeks of testing and study. Well done, Google; I have a feeling that the devices will only improve further from here in the watch category.

I have greatly enjoyed this watch since I purchased it a couple months ago. It has done a good job tracking my workouts (using Strava), promptly receiving notifications, and lasts all day on a single charge. It works well with my phone (Pixel 9). Unless something big comes up I can recommend this watch.
Size = came with two straps, so I used the one that works for me
Comfort = surprisingly comfortable having come from a smaller watch
I have not used it while sleeping or very in-depth health tracking, so I can’t speak to that.
Kate –
This watch is an upgrade from any Fitbit model in my opinion. I can easily access my contacts and create a message or call someone directly from my watch if I can’t get to my phone. I find the step count more accurate than Fitbit while pushing a baby stroller.
It charges using a magnetic charger via Type-C and charges within about an hour. The battery doesn’t last as long as I’d like but it doesn’t bother me unless I forget to charge my watch in the morning.
It keeps track of my heart rate and monitors for any irregular signs.
Very decent way for the value!
Keith –
I wear this daily. It’s a great little watch, keeping time and my health in check. My only issue with it, is it’s not smart enough to realize that a long sleeve shirt isnt your face, so it can sometimes just leave the screen on, causing the battery to drain fast.

I purchased this watch to replace my TicWatch and I’m so pleased with the purchase! I have had zero issues with the watch in the almost month I’ve been using it. The pedometer appears to be more accurate than my TicWatch was, I have not had any issues with the watch connecting with my phone, the battery easily lasts one to two days, and I love that this watch is compatible with the Fitbit app to help track my activity and nutrition. This has been a great tool to have on my health journey.

I’ve been using this watch for about a year now. I deliberately went with the Pixel Watch 2 even though the third version was already available because of the price—and honestly, its features were more than enough for me. Now the Watch 4 is available, but my 2 is still very relevant to me.
The key here is value. The newer models have brighter screens and slightly better battery life, but for daily use, the Watch 2 holds up great. I get my full 24 hours of battery (which is all I need since I charge it during my morning shower) and the performance is still snappy thanks to the upgraded chip.
The Fitbit integration is flawless. The heart rate tracking is accurate for my runs, and the sleep tracking is consistent. I have access to all the core Wear OS apps I need, like Google Wallet and Maps.
If you’re looking for a top-tier Android smartwatch experience but don’t want to pay the newest flagship price, snagging a Pixel Watch 2 is the smart move. You aren’t missing out on anything truly essential. It’s a great, dependable piece of tech.

Love this watch. Easy to switch bands and the bands stay attached unlike my Fitbit. Watchface is easy to read and not too big. You have to make sure the charger is on snug or it won’t charge. This has only happened once to me. I guess I bumped the charger and it moved enough that the watch didn’t charge.
It doesn’t keep step count well. It is always at least 200 steps off. That it frustrating. For this reason only I have been thinking about going back to Fitbit.

The pixel watch 2 has a great, simple and clean design and functions well. Due to its small size and light feel, sleep tracking is not a problem as you can easily forget it’s there.
The biometrics seem to be good, all the regular / expected tracking is there, as well as an AFib detection and ECG features. I was worried you would need Fitbit premium to use all the features but from my perspective Fitbit premium seems useless, and you can use your watch to its fullest without. Keep in mind this watch is small, if you want a bulky watch this is not it.
I use mine with my pixel 7 pro, and have had no issues, haptics are great, battery is slightly over 24 hrs with default settings (or so I found). I’d recommend finding a silicone stand to put the charger cord in to keep everything organized.

In any case, I FINALLY have a smartwatch that I love after weeks of testing and study. Well done, Google; I have a feeling that the devices will only improve further from here in the watch category.

Let me begin by laying some groundwork. I’m deep into the Google platform. 5 phones since the first pixel, 3, 5, 6 and 7pro. Pixel tablet, and to many numerous home products to list as well as pitches for gifts for family and friends. To say I’m a fanboy is in understatement. This is the first time I’m disappointed in the product.
Firstly, the watch OS is amazing. I love the watch. Unfortunately it’s the case that was the let down. Specifically the part where the watch band connects. There are tiny ridges that it connects to. I didn’t like the silicone band for dressier events so I bought a leather one to occasionally change. It the 13 months that I’ve had the watch, I’ve changed it 3 times. Little did I know that they edges are not strong. They wore out and the band keeps popping off. It started a few months ago and got to the point where I can’t wear the watch anymore. Watches are meant to be worn for years not 13 months. I love this watch so I figured I would just find out how I could get it repaired. I called Google hoping that I could pay for repairs. They don’t have this option. After spending about 40 mins on the phone with Google, I discovered that I missed my warranty by a month, completely my fault, but the would escalate my call and see what they can do. Honestly I just want this watch repaired but the service agent said it wasn’t possible but he made it seem like there was more that could be done. At this point, I really didn’t think anything could be done. I got thinking that I wasn’t even sure that I would want to buy another watch if it couldn’t keep up with such everyday wear. He came back on the phone and had good news, they could offer me a credit towards the purchase of another watch at the Google store. The credit would show up later on my account. I asked again, just to clarify, was there no way to just repair this watch. I’m sort of attached to it and it seems like such a waste to replace it. Again, nothing they could do so i accepted the credit. I got off the phone thinking, WOW, after all these years of buying Google and being a dedicated customer, I guess they go above and beyond to keep their customers. I was so impressed. I guess I’ll buy the exact same one since other than the clasp, I had no issues.
Today I opened my Google account and saw the credit…
$20. Another watch is $250
What a slap in the face. They way he was talking on the phone, it sounded like a credit for another watch. When he first said it was out of warranty, I automatically figured I missed out and accepted that. It was the agent that convinced me otherwise. I won’t be touching that credit just on principle. That one interaction completely tainted my love of Google.
Sorry for the long rant. Buyer beware, don’t change the watch band as they are not made to do that.

Have used several other cheaper fitness watches. This is great, has lots of features and appears durable after 7 months of use. Much more accurate than previous bands. Setup and connectivity were easy. I think spending a little more will save money in the long run.

I bought this watch 14 months ago. I have loved it. Last night, it started malfunctioning. I looked up the issue online and found hundreds of people with the same issue, so it’s obviously a bug in the watch. After several hours on the phone with Google, who tried to blame Fitbit, who sent me BACK to Google, I was told there’s nothing they can do. After spending a lot of money, two months out of warranty, they couldn’t care less, not even a tiny discount on a new one.
I’m sad, because I love the look of the watch and I love its features. What I don’t love is Google treating this like it has nothing to do with them, even though it’s apparently a common problem. I hate the look of other comparable smart watches, but I hate giving my money to a company who can’t be bothered to fix a common problem nor make any compensation to their customers even more.
My advice if you decide to buy it is to choose the 3 year warranty; that way, you might get three years of use for your money before they tell you to stuff it.

I got the Pixel Watch 2 a few weeks ago, and I couldn’t be happier with it! I was looking for a smartwatch that would not only look cool but also offer great functionality, and the Pixel Watch 2 delivers on both fronts.
The design of this watch is sleek and modern, and I love the customizable watch faces that allow me to express my style. The build quality is top-notch, and it feels durable, which is important for someone like me who’s always on the go.
The performance is outstanding. The watch is super responsive, and the apps load quickly. I can easily track my steps, heart rate, and sleep quality, which helps me stay on top of my fitness goals. Plus, the integration with Google Fit is seamless, making it easy to monitor my progress.
The battery life has been impressive. I can wear it all day, even with active use, and I usually have some juice left at the end of the day. The fast charging feature is a lifesaver when I need to top it up in a hurry.
One of my favorite features is the Google Assistant integration. It’s incredibly handy for setting reminders, asking questions, and controlling smart home devices. Voice commands work like a charm, and it feels like having a personal assistant on my wrist.
The Pixel Watch 2 also keeps me connected with notifications from my phone, so I don’t miss important calls or messages. It’s a great way to stay in the loop without constantly checking my phone.
Overall, the Pixel Watch 2 is a fantastic smartwatch for teenagers like me. It combines style, performance, and functionality in one package. I can’t recommend it enough!

This watch is everything I needed and wanted. I have heart issues so monitoring my heart rate is important and this helps with that. I want to become more active and this works better than my Fitbit! My only complaints is with size. The larger wrist band still is not that large for me (only 1-2 holes from the end) and the watch itself is a little big so if I bend my hand I end up pressing the crown in with my hand and turning the display on and more. There is no way to have the crown face away from my hand which would have been ideal and still have the display readable. With all that it helps with for health and the added bonus of linking with my phone, the size is not a deal breaker. The battery lasts about 2 days for me. Overall worth getting but if money is tight wait for a sale!

I’ve been loving this watch since I first put it on. From what I’ve read, the Samsung Galaxy watch is considered better, but you need an additional wireless plan, and I didn’t want that. The Pixel Watch 2 has a bluetooth/wifi option and that is good enough for me. I already had a Pixel 8, so it works seamlessly with my phone.
I also really like how customizable the phone is. There are lots of watch face options and you can even further customize each watch face. There are also downloadable watch face apps for even more options. I have not explored this too much beyond what is included on the watch. There are lots of accessories available to customize the look of the watch. It comes with a basic silicon strap. It’s fine, but you can find different colors and styles of bands and cases.
I have two main complaints…
1) Battery Life – You have to charge it once a day on average. I like using it to track my sleep, so I need to charge it during the day. That being said, it charges quickly. I’ve gotten in the habit of charging it in the morning when I sit down to start my work day.
2) Charging Cable – It has a special, unique charging cable. It doesn’t plug in, it uses a magnet to attach. It’s always annoying having special cables for charging. It is also a different charging cable/mechanism than the previous model.
Additional Concerns… You need to get a protective case. It’s a watch, you will bump it into stuff, drop it, etc. Just a screen protector will not cut it. The curved body means a film protector will come off more easily. There are plenty of cheap options for protective cases available, though.

Have been using this watch about 3 months now. It was easy to learn the operation and like how it links up with the fit bit app. Very easy to change the features on the watch to your liking. I have a pixel phone and it pairs up with it flawlessly. One of the reasons I bought the watch is to track my heart rate, sleep and activity, which it does very well. So far the watch has been very durable. The battery life is very good, will last almost two days without charging. It charges in about 30 minutes, which is very fast. So far it has been a great watch.

Okay! Had this watch for a few days now and love it! Did I tell you I love it? Works really well with my Android Bison Phone. Does everything an Apple Watch does, just cheaper. I can’t recommend this watch enough! And at $224 CAD, taxes in? What a deal!
Update Aug 14, 2025… Still love this watch!!!

Watch is awesome and worked great apart from dead pixels in the bottom of the screen. Once you noticed you couldn’t unsee it. Ordered as a gift, unfortunately when it was finally given the return window with Amazon had long expired.
Fortunately was able to contact Google and they processed it under warranty and sent a replacement (very quickly) for the defective watch which will be sent back to them. Thanks Google for your awesome customer service!

Medically, I needed to monitor my heart rate closely, and this watch has been perfect. It’s built with good quality materials, rock-hard faceplate, and a comfortable strap to wear 24 hours a day. A lot better quality than the old fitbits. I also appreciate the smart features like custom alarms, phone finder, activity modes, answering calls on my watch like Dick Tracy. haha
Kilz Knight –

Received today. So, this is a first impression review. The watch looks cute. Size is towards smaller size compared to some others in the market. But it looks perfect size for me. Someone with a beefy wrist may feel small.
I use pixel phone. The pairing was instant and automatic with no confusion. You expect that within Google ecosystem.
This is a replacement for my Fossil smartwatch that just died. I liked that watch. Was slightly bigger, so the lettering was a bit bigger too. I bought dozens of watch faces for that watch that were all WearOS compatible.
At the first instance, this watch has it’s own Google app to control watch features, tiles, and faces. I have not yet discovered a sync up with additional watch faces except I opened a face app, asked to install on the watch and then it did. But it felt sort of non native for this watch. However, the face did show up on watch as well as on the phone companion app.
In the end I simply deleted the WearOS app from my phone as this watch does not require that. And I also sadly deleted all my watch faces. Too much hassle set up all over again.
Although, I would say, the faces shipped by default are not bad. They are not as colorful or information-rich as some of my purchased 3rd party faces. But then all that information will look too small on a smaller dial.
The watch sensors are years ahead of other smartwatches (except Apple iWatch). Apple hardware is certainly a little better but you pay a much more premium. Also, I am in Android ecosystem with no Apple products. Hence, Apple watch would never work for me.
The band is proprietary and you cannot replace with 3rd party. It looks decent, although, I prefer a metal mesh band.
All in all, I think it delivers exactly what it promised. So, I have no complaints. YMMV 😀

I got this on a Black Friday sale and was happy with the price. I would not be happy with its normal price.
PROS (WATCH):
I mostly like the watch itself. The UI is comparatively intuitive. The display is bright, colorful, and readable. Its a bit big for my tastes, but that does make the display more readable for my old eyes.
PROS (FITBIT):
I appreciated that the watch allowed me to use the Fitbit app (where all my historical data lives). The integration seems fairly solid.
CONS (WATCH):
Sadly, the band pretty much ruins the watch. It is remarkably uncomfortable. I oscillate between it being too tight and too loose. It makes my wrist sweat.
There is a Google-branded sports band, which is poorly reviewed, costs 1/3 as much as the watch itself, and has a plastic clasp. Seriously, how hard would it be to punch some holes in the original band so my wrist can get some air?
Attaching/detaching the bands is unnecessarily difficult. Though, I do like how firm the attachment seems.
The overall selection of bands is also very limited. Its just a bunch of different manufacturers peddling copies of the same style band over and over.
The battery life is not impressive. Plan on charging it every morning when you wake up.
CONS (FITBIT):
Google would not allow me to pair both my Pixel Watch 2 and my Charge 5 with the Fitbit app. So, instead of being able to use each for what it is good at. I’m stuck trying to make one watch do everything and the other watch becomes an expensive paperweight.
Since Google’s acquisition of Fitbit, the quality of the Fitbit app has dropped dramatically. Meaningful colors are gone in a wash of monochrome sameness. Useful statistics are now difficult to find and require a lot of taps/swipes to reach.

I bought this watch about one year ago. It will be one year in October 2024. I bought it because it had features that I liked
– fall security alert
– health monitoring features
– daily activity monitoring
– Attractive looking
VERY DISAPPOINTED
I did not test the fall security feature, but two months ago, I miscalculated a step when getting out of bed in the middle of the night; I went flying and hit the floor on my side. The alarm NEVER went off. It is a good thing no injury was incurred.
In the beginning, a 100% charge lasted about 24 hours. Now, after almost one year, it dies within 12 hours. I have even learned to switch the watch into “theatre mode,” which shuts down features to obtain silence and conserve energy. The feature works fine and gives me a bit more juice, but just a bit.
Sometimes, I feel trapped by the lack of dependability of the charge. I noticed that these days, I slip back to wearing my Citizen “ECO” watch, which is accurate and never needs a change of battery or a charge. Unfortunately, it does not offer some of the features that I was hoping for.
MAJOR, MAJOR disappointment
Avreimy –

If you’re looking for a watch that operates autonomously from a phone for you child, this isn’t the right watch unless you’re willing to give your kid a phone number on a phone.
For parents looking for a watch for their older child:
I’m looking for a watch that can call without using a phone, and with which my daughter can send texts that she writes (i.e. aren’t pre-written). I ordered this thinking it would be great! Here’s the issue – it requires a phone to set up. So I used mine. And that gave her ALL my contacts, my work email notifications, and every text I sent. I thought I’d outsmart it – I set up an old Android that we had laying around. BUT! Alas, my 11yo couldn’t have her gmail associated with it because she’s not 13, the age at which a kid’s gmail account becomes an adult account. So I changed her age. Google did not provide the “upgrade to adult” option that Google forums say should have happened. So I created an adult account for her. Then spent 2 hours with AT&T trying to get the eSIM to work. Nope. It needs an active phone w/a number, not just an old phone laying around with no SIM card. There are two workarounds according to AT&T: 1) give your kid the phone they wanted anyhow (hard “no” for me) and put the phone number on that, then bluetooth the watch to the phone, or 2) get an Apple watch SE, which can be set up to be a kid’s watch and operate autonomously without putting all your emails and contacts and texts on their watch.
For people wanting to use the watch themselves: worked great. Easy to set up. Bluetooth to the phone worked fine. Call quality was good. Texting was easy. Just needs that phone.

The product was advertised as a Google Pixel Watch 2 LTE model. LTE functionality is not working. Instead of providing troubleshooting or configuration support, the seller advised me to return the item. The product description did not clearly indicate any regional LTE restrictions. I request Amazon to review this as an item not functioning as advertised and provide an appropriate resolution.

I suggest looking at the age of the review…. the older the watch gets, the worse the review, especially about battery life.
Watch itself is great. It has useful features.
I have experienced connectivity issues with my Pixel phone that are annoying where it randomly will not pair.
The battery life is worse than awful. Depending on activity levels, it may not even last 24 hours. The older the watch gets, the worse the battery life becomes. I am unable to track both activity levels and sleep consistently because it dies if I don’t recharge at some point additionally during the day(or night if I forget). If I don’t use the watch for messages, phone calls alerts, weather checks, regular amounts of activity tracking etc… sometimes it can make it a whole day without dying, but that is rare.
Google should really be ashamed to produce a product with battery life that renders the watch inoperable, especially for the high price point.

I got this watch for my husband. It pairs perfectly with his Google Pixel! He loves it. I tried it for a week, thinking I may order one for me. Sadly, the back of the metal is made with one of the metals that I have an allergic reaction with, causing a rash. Luckily, he didn’t have a problem with it.
Greg from Canada –
I have had A Google phone since they came out, Google Nest, TV, etc. When my last Fitbit died, I figured I’d get the watch since it has all the same features as the Fitbit and so many more. Well, it dies far too quickly – I have to charge it every day. It’s also not good at tracking steps, like at all! I have health challenges and after an active day, I was excited to look at my steps. I had 19!!! I worked really hard to hopefully reach my 3000,it was a real letdown.
Devansh –
I wear this daily. It’s a great little watch, keeping time and my health in check. My only issue with it, is it’s not smart enough to realize that a long sleeve shirt isnt your face, so it can sometimes just leave the screen on, causing the battery to drain fast.

I’ve been an android user for years and have loved it. I have also been very impressed with Google and all their services including Google Assistant on my phone. So, when it came to buying a smart watch with fall detection and SOS, the Google Pixel Watch 2 seemed like a no-brainer. I’m 73 years old and live alone. So I do have a concern with falling, heart attaches, and strokes. I bought this watch with the hopes I would be able to just say “Ok, Google, call 911”. However, what I found was the Google Assistant only worked sporadically, maybe 20% of the time. I tried clearing the cache and data, restarting the watch, and retraining the assistant several times. Each time it worked for about 10 minutes. I have no confidence in this watch being able to call 911 in an emergency without my physically touching the watch; not something I may be able to do if I’m stroking out.
Aside from the above, the watch itself worked fine. It integrated will with the Google Assistant app and the Fitbit app, and seemed very accurate when it came to the features people look for when wanting to monitor their physical activity. The watch was comfortable for all- day wear and I loved the design of the band which gave me assurance it wouldn’t accidentally come off. The Fitbit app is very full-featured even without a Fitbit Premium account.

I had been using the watch for a few months and with each upgrade Google make really good improvements, on the software that’s give you a better user experience. However, the only thing that is really bad, in comparison with all the companion sports apps that other smartwatches have is Fitbit… Come on!! A really good watch with a poor app…

Have used several other cheaper fitness watches. This is great, has lots of features and appears durable after 7 months of use. Much more accurate than previous bands. Setup and connectivity were easy. I think spending a little more will save money in the long run.
