The Garmin fēnix 7 Pro Solar is the crème de la crème of sport watches. The accuracy of GPS, features, and build quality are all super. The solar charging alone is a game-changer; this thing will go for weeks without a charge, which is perfect for extended outdoor adventures. It’s big, and if you have a smaller wrist, it’s still comfortable and chock-full of useful features. Highly recommended—easily 5 stars!

I’ve been using the Garmin fēnix 7 Pro Solar for a few weeks now, and it is hands down the best multisport GPS smartwatch I’ve ever owned. The features are thoughtfully designed for athletes, adventurers, and outdoor enthusiasts. Here’s what I love:
Solar Charging: The solar-powered battery is a game-changer! It extends the battery life significantly, especially on long outdoor trips. I never worry about running out of charge during hikes or cycling adventures.
Built-in Flashlight: The flashlight is incredibly handy for early morning runs, camping, or any low-light activities. It’s a feature I didn’t know I needed until I used it.
Advanced Navigation & GNSS: The multiband GPS ensures pinpoint accuracy, even in dense forests or urban environments. It’s great for trail running and hiking.
Health & Fitness Features: The enhanced heart rate monitoring, training readiness insights, and VO2 max tracking are fantastic for optimizing my workouts. Plus, the recovery tracking is spot on.
Durable Design: The watch feels solid and premium. It’s built to military-grade standards, making it water-resistant, scratch-resistant, and suitable for any harsh conditions.
The fēnix 7 Pro Solar strikes a perfect balance between durability, functionality, and style. While the price is premium, it’s worth every penny for the reliability and features it offers. If you’re serious about your outdoor pursuits and fitness tracking, this watch is an investment you won’t regret.

he Garmin Sapphire is an excellent smartwatch for men who value durability and performance. The sapphire crystal lens is incredibly tough and resistant to scratches, making it perfect for active lifestyles. It offers a wide range of features, including advanced fitness tracking, GPS accuracy, and seamless connectivity for notifications. The battery life is impressive, lasting several days even with regular use. Its sleek yet rugged design looks great, whether you’re at the gym or in the office. Overall, the Garmin Sapphire is a reliable, feature-packed watch that’s worth the investment.

I bought this for hunting but also use it when I’m snowboarding and no joke the navigation can keep up with me doing 60kh on the mountain and still give me accurate riding lines in time so I don’t miss my runs.
Battery life is outstanding too, to be honest I’ve had it around 3 weeks and the options on this watch is endless plus you get all the maps free with this watch.
It’s a must buy, I wish I bought this watch years ago

I bought this watch to replace my Samsung Galaxy 4 watch.
The battery life is enormous. With normal use, it’ll last maybe 2-3 weeks. I’m not that active of a person. I’m actually probably not the audience this watch is geared towards but I got it anyways bc I wanted a smart watch that would have a charge lasting more than a day.
It does exactly what I want, lasts more than a day. Nice big display.
I don’t like that the display isn’t super bright. However, I actually bought the Forerunner 965 to try out. The interfaces were almost the same, except the Forerunner was more beautiful. When I move my hand to look at the time though, bc the Fenix is a MIP display, it is truly always on. I can at least see it. The forerunner though would be off, sometimes wouldn’t turn on unless I wiggles my wrist a smidge. It’s something little, I know.
But, for my needs (I work in a hospital, sometimes get blood or other patient biohazardous fluids on it during procedures), it works great. I can wash it very very thoroughly. If it can survive 5ATM of pressure it can definitely handle a thorough cleaning.
The band that came with it is nice. I usually losen it one or two notches overnight. The sleep tracking, which is not the primary purpose of the watch, is pretty good. I think my old Fitbit Charge 3 was more accurate for sleep timings than Samsung Galaxy 4…. And that was more accurate than the Fenix. But overall, good enough for my needs. It doesn’t keep track of naps though. Supposedly there is an update coming soon to fix that.
The brightness could be better BUT in direct sunlight I can definitely read it.
The built in flashlight is clutch. I love that feature. I don’t remember the Forerunner 965 having it but I tried both simultaneously for a week and might have just forgotten.
Location is extremely accurate for me. No issues. I only used it near my house. Primarily to track my location to send to wife in case of medical emergencies while walking. Very very happy with it.
Again, my use case is slightly different than the typical for the audience this is meant for. I’m not a health fanatic. Just an average person. I walk maybe 2-3 miles a day. I don’t go on mountain trails that often. I don’t go biking. So I can’t really comment on that stuff.

Strongly recommend picking one up if you’re on the fence and are coming from lesser watches.
Loving the new added features found on the 7X. (upgraded from Fenix 5X after 5+ years use)
* Touch screen + Transflective display
* Body battery metric
* Morning summary
* Extended battery life! (soooo much better than every 3 day charging)
* Solar charging (though in the winter it doesn’t do much)
* NFC connection for wallet/payments
* Pro-Pace features
* Better GPS connectivity
* Band style is still just as beefy as well as the metal screen surround (sapphire screen saved me so many times!)
Only con I’ve noticed is bluetooth range seems to be slightly reduced. Before I used to be able to leave my phone downstairs and not lose connection upstairs in bed… now it connects and disconnects all the time while upstairs unfortunately.

I’ve had this watch for a year now and have loved it… til now. With the time change and the sun setting at 5:30pm, I’ve had to run in the dark. Bought myself a Nitecore NU25UL headlamp and it’s great. I forgot it once for a night run, but remembered my garmin has a built in flashlight. Used the flashlight feature for a 2 hour run and 1 1/2 hours in my watch died. Thought maybe it was a fluke or I forgot to charge it, but the same situation happened again (forgot my headlamp) and used my garmin flashlight while tracking my run, yet it died again an hour in. This time I made sure I had +90% battery to begin with.
It doesn’t die fast on a regular bases, just when I’m tracking and using the flashlight feature at the same time. Very inconvenient.

This is my first garmin watch and I have literally nothing bad to say about it. I would highly recommend grabbing one if you are on the fence and can find it on sale. It has been fantastic. I have had an apple watch in the past, and to me it was just a bit too gimmicky for what I use. I used to just use a basic timex expedition for my daily wear watch until I got this fenix 7 pro saphire solar. The watch looks great, everything feels smooth and no lag, and even on the smaller size that I got I have no problems reading everything on it. The original band fit fine and is a great band for the water, but I swapped mine for a leather band for comfort at night. The sleep tracking has been awesome for me, and pretty accurate in depicting my body battery for the day. You can get notifications from basically anything, but I just set mine for texts and calls. You can’t respond like an apple watch, but I don’t mind that at all. My watch is my watch, not my phone. Overall just a great purchase for me. I thought the LED light would be useless but I find myself using the red light basically every day/night to get around my house, and the white light is pretty much as bright as my phone light which is nice for quickly lighting something close up. Battery is great too. With my settings I get about 14 days of use before I need to charge it. The great thing is that I can just throw it on the charger when I take a shower and by the time I am done it is mostly charged again. The health tracking is a cool feature as well, though I don’t use it intensively, it is nice for quick heart rate estimates and calorie count.

Superbe montre!

I replaced an Apple Watch Ultra 1 with this. Prior to the Ultra, I had a fenix 5, so I was familiar with the garmin ecosystem and how it works. It should be noted that there is sync between apple healthkit / fitness and garmin, but it’s not totally complete, so it won’t be a complete solution if that is what you want to do. What I wanted, was something durable, functional, flexible, with a great battery life. This fit the bill. The solar is a cool option, but its not like one of my old Casio watches with solar. the solar “helps”, but you can’t really rely on it. However, the battery life is pretty incredible – I get a couple of weeks with full smartwatch functionality and a daily workout, plus a daily walk that I also track. I also like the sleep tracking, which I use nightly. It reports 28 days of battery upon a full charge.
The sensors seems to be quite accurate when tested against an Apple Watch Ultra v1 and even a chest strap (HRV).
Pros:
Incredible battery life
Solar is fairly cool, even if slightly novelty
Good ecosystem
Very durable
Decent weight for its size
Cons:
It’s large. I have a medium sized wrist and I got the biggest one, it’s large but I prefer a large watch
Doesn’t *fully* integrate with Apple HealthKit / Activity
Stock band is fairly “meh”, but very comfortable and durable.

Purchased this watch to replace a dying Garmin Vivoactive 3. Having some gift card monies to spend, I really wanted a Fenix even though I knew it was much more watch than I really needed. As usual, I over researched watches (reviews, YouTube videos, etc) but narrowed my search to the Fenix 7x Pro and the Apple Watch Ultra 2. Although the Apple Watch is a great watch, ultimately it didn’t meet my needs as much as the Garmin.
As mentioned before, the Fenix exceeds my needs but what I’ve experienced thus far, I know I made the correct choice. Naturally because it is a much more advanced watch than my outgoing Vivoactive, the features are more accurate. GPS is spot on, HR is surprisingly good, stairs counter is much more accurate, and the rep counter when strength training is much better. I’ve been using the sleep tracker…I really don’t know the accuracy of the feature but it’s interesting all the same. I anticipate using the map features while hiking/biking once the weather improves. I probably don’t need to mention battery life but this watch is probably second to none. I’m going from charging every other day to going several weeks on a charge.
A concern of mine was the case size of the watch. My Vivoactive was 42mm (I believe) and this Fenix is 51mm. A couple coworkers have Apple Watch Ultra 2’s and I thought the size was reasonable at 49mm. Still not certain, I went to a local store that carries Garmin watches and tried on a Fenix 8 at 51mm. My decision was made after that. It is a big jump in watch size but I was able to accustom myself to the watch very quickly. Being a larger case, all the provided data can be viewed easily instead of being smushed onto a smaller screen.
My one an only dislike of the watch is the watch band. No matter how tight/loose the band was, the buckle would dig into my wrist and cause discomfort and abrasions. I replaced it with a Hēmsut band and couldn’t be happier. I also purchased a case/bezel cover (ISABAKE) to prevent chips and scratches.
Lastly, if can live without an AMOLED screen (Fenix 8), the Fenix 7 line can be had at hundred$ less. I’m not certain but other than the AMOLED vs MIP screen, I don’t think the Fenix 8 offers much more over the 7.

I brought the Garmin Fenix 7 Pro Sapphire Solar with me on a trip to Yellowstone, and it ended up being one of the best pieces of gear I packed. I mainly got it for hiking, trail running, and general fitness tracking, and it completely delivered.
The solar charging was awesome. I spent long days outside in full sun and never once had to think about plugging it in. Battery life is seriously impressive. I also didn’t think I’d use the built-in flashlight much, but it actually came in handy a few times, in the tent at night and digging through my pack when it got dark.
The watch is rugged and solid. I scraped it on rocks a couple times while hiking, and the sapphire screen didn’t even get a scratch. GPS was super accurate, and having maps right on my wrist made navigating way easier than pulling out my phone. Even the heart rate and sleep tracking seemed surprisingly accurate.
If I had to nitpick, the watch is a bit chunky, not a big deal, just something to be aware of. And the interface takes a little getting used to at first, but once you learn it, it’s smooth sailing.
If you spend a lot of time outdoors or just want a tough, feature-packed fitness watch, this one’s absolutely worth it.

Have moved to Fenix 7 Pro SS from Fenix 5 (5+ years on but the battery capacity started to diminish) only a couple of weeks ago – what an upgrade!
Been on the fence – upgrade or not until Fenix 8 and E versions became available. No regrets for not getting either 8 or E versions. Did not want an AMOLED screen, happier with the MIP display – and so far very impressed with the battery life.
Also, did not care for speaker/mike on the watch – that ruled out Fenix 8.
What I use the watch for (much less than it offers): hiking, walking, swimming – pool and open water, gym, and looking forward to use it for skiing and using the ski resort maps on it.
Completely overwhelming was the additional volume of data Fenix 7 provided. Importantly, 7 Pro seems to have the same sensors as the 8. Perhaps, 8 can give even more, but at twice the price?
I can barely consume all the telemetry data that is made available to me by Fenix 7 Pro.
Super happy after this short period of time, and have yet to recharge the watch.
Nit-picking: if I go to bed before my programmed bed time, vibrating notifications on the watch connecting/disconnecting to/from my phone are annoying – will look to disabling those.
Kudos to Garmin for the device, kudos to Amazon for making it accessible!

The Garmin Fenix 7S Pro has literally changed my lifestyle. I use it every day for marathon and Ironman training, and it keeps me on track with workouts, recovery, and overall fitness. The built-in flashlight is a game-changer for running at night—it helps me see and be seen, which is a huge safety plus. My only minor complaint is that the stock watch band can be uncomfortable at times, but that’s easily fixed with a different strap. Overall, this watch is an absolute powerhouse for anyone serious about training.

Extremely happy with this watch, which I chose over the Garmin Fenix 8 and the Apple Watch. I love the MIP display, versus the glowing-orb look of Apple watches and the Amoled display of the Fenix 8. I see it just fine in daytime, and can just tap to see it at night. The functionality runs deep—so many features—but I particularly like the built-in flashlight, which I use constantly, and the long battery life. I get at least a week from a charge, and I use it for workouts every day. This proves to me that the latest and greatest is not always the best choice. I couldn’t be happier with the Fenix 7.

Amazing watch, it tracks just about every fitness metric out there. Best feature is a dedicated Pickleball tracking modes for indoor and outdoor play. Its MTB biking mode is very good considering how hard it is to track most rides due to the vibration. The only watch I would replace this one with is the next generation version of it.

Fenix 7 is it amazing watch. If you’re looking for an apple type watch, this is not it. This watch is made for athletes, outdoorsman and it’s functionality shows that purpose. The watches general design is not bad at all, and the solar actually works quite well helping to extend the battery life.

Wonderful watch. Easy intial setup with Garmin Connect. Navigating the buttons and touch control is very fluid. My only gripe is the max brightness level indoors. It is dim for my liking, but getting used to it. This is likely from being spoiled by amoled displays. It is a bit shocking at first and a bit disappointing so I almost dinged it a star. This should be considered before buying MIP displayed watch. Outside it transformed into a very usable and normal viewing. A concern of mine was size of the watch on my wrist. Think of a Rolex Submariner or GMT at 42mm, and it historically has been considered the perfect size for a sports watch. More recently, watches have ballooned in size, and I worried 47mm is pushing it to an extreme. On my wrist, it was just right for my flattish 8.25 inch wrist. Definatly would not go to 51mm, given my age and body type. A younger, more athletic person might pull it off without being an uncomfortable size and looking comical. Loading maps from AllTrails has been easy. There are layers of complexity and more watch than most can ever use. I write down the function buttons used to help remind me how to navigate the watch. Saved some money vs the Fenix 8 and put it into a chest heart rate monitor to get more detailed analytics. Try on first if you can and take a good look at the display. Or just play it safe and get amoled.

Really like the battery life; often get 2 weeks while using activity tracking at high resolution a few hours a week. Health tracking and visibility helps motivate me to work out more.
Very durable but did end up with a scratch on the glass at some point. I was debating between this version and the sapphire glass version for a bit more money, still happy with this version even after the scratch.

Absolutely phenomenal watch. It has been put through HELL since i bought it back in Fall 2025 in the oilfields of northern canada. Freezing cold temps, oil, dirt, snow, water, you name it and the display is still as clear as the first day it powered on.
Helps track my sleep patterns, calories, tells me where i am, what the time and day it is, and even has a flashlight!
Easily one of the best purchases i have ever made. Easy recommendation to anyone looking for more than jewelry, but wants the same smart functions as a smart watch without being so fragile.
The best feature? Literally half a month between charges. Magic stuff.

Coming from as an Apple Watch user, I have to say the battery life is great!!! It lasts me more than a week with everyday workout routines. It also integrates with the iPhone well software wise, which makes it more than convenience. Even though, it does not come with fancy watch faces like the Apple Watch, but it can be purchase through the Garmin application store which I did and I very much enjoying the display (shown below). There are a few simple watch face selections which come with the watch and they are easy and viewable. It also has its own messaging app but I preferably using the iPhone app which communicates thru the Fenix by Bluetooth. Highly recommended for any outdoor enthusiasts.
REH –
Amazing watch, it tracks just about every fitness metric out there. Best feature is a dedicated Pickleball tracking modes for indoor and outdoor play. Its MTB biking mode is very good considering how hard it is to track most rides due to the vibration. The only watch I would replace this one with is the next generation version of it.

Excellent wrist companion! I especially like the month-long battery charge and sapphire window. Only drawback is the diffuculty in seeing the screen while driving. You have to angle it just right to see it.

I purchased another less expensive smartwatch, not Garmin, but it didn’t work. So I bought the Garmin fenix 7x pro sapphire and it’s an absolute dream. I can’t praise it highly enough. It’s not very expensive but not cheap, however I think that it’s a brilliant investment. It does everything I need, I am a hill walker and mountain climber. The features on this smartwatch are outstanding. Whilst trying to download topo maps my Internet went down and I lost connection. I thought this would cause problems, but when my Internet was reconnect 3 days later, the smartwatch picked up exactly where it lost connection. The features, and there are hundreds of them, on the smartwatch function flawlessly. Buy it.

I bought this intending it to be a replacement for my fenix 5X. After one day, I’m returning it and ordering a new (old) 5X, which seems to be the last of the fenix models that possesses actual useful features.
In the first place: Most of the watch faces do not allow calorie burn to be selected as a display widget. Why this could possibly be the case, when calorie tracking is one of the most valuable features of the Garmin, I have no idea. (Apparently, beginning with the fenix 6, the developers got lazy and didn’t code in [or confirm their bots had coded in] all the data options for all the display designs, and no one cared enough to fix it.)
I do not want to need to swipe up or open the Connect app every time I want to check my caloric expenditure; and I don’t think you do, either.
There are two ways to circumvent this design flaw: (1) Systematically select each watch face option and go through the setup to see whether it has calorie burn as a display feature, and end up with a display that you don’t like but that will tell you how many calories you’ve burned; or (2) Download the Connect IQ app, wait 10 minutes for the FaceTime feature to load (…every time), and create a customizable watch face that only gives you a few options per setting, none of which are particularly appealing. Then you can select three features to display—not four, which the fenix 5X permits—and spend another half hour getting them positioned appropriately on the screen, since you need to move them around manually and the second you lift your finger the widget shifts a few millimeters to the left. If you’re an athlete, this is already not worth your time or your money.
But if you aren’t an athlete and are just looking for a wearable that will tell time and track your activity, could this be the right (albeit overpriced) unit for you? Still no: It doesn’t tell time. That’s right—the second hand on the watch display just freezes and disappears unless you press a button to “wake” it, which then promptly takes you to another screen. So, good luck tracking units of time lower than one minute, which seems like a fairly important capability for most physical activities. Good luck tracking actual minutes either, as a matter of fact: Most of the analog displays lack minute and even hour tick-marks, so you just sort of have to go off of fractions and vibes to guess what time it is.
You couldn’t pay me $800 to keep this thing.

I’ve been using the Garmin Fenix 7X Pro Sapphire Solar for over a month, and I’m blown away by how incredible it is! The solar charging feature is a total game-changer. Even with heavy use—GPS tracking, heart rate monitoring, and all the usual features—the battery easily lasts over a month on a single charge, thanks to the solar panel keeping it topped up. It’s perfect for long hikes, multi-day trips, or just not having to worry about charging constantly.
The sapphire glass is tough and resistant to scratches, so I don’t have to stress about damaging the display while I’m out in rugged terrain. The watch itself is built to last, with a solid, premium feel but still comfortable on the wrist. The large, bright display is easy to read in direct sunlight, and the touch interface is responsive even when I’m wearing gloves.
With advanced GPS, built-in maps, activity tracking for everything from hiking to swimming, and smart features like notifications, this watch does it all. It’s truly designed for outdoor enthusiasts and athletes, and it has made a huge difference in my training and outdoor adventures.
If you need a reliable, rugged, and long-lasting smartwatch, the Garmin Fenix 7X Pro Sapphire Solar is worth every penny. The battery life alone is worth it—over a month of use without charging is incredible. I can’t recommend it enough!

UPDATE: 57 people are going to be disappointed. I had this watch for a year, I loved the look of it, but the titanium scratched like crazy, the and the solar screen had a slight red tint to it especially in high sunlit areas. I upgraded to the Fenix 8 sapphire solar, and let me tell you the 8 is simply better. In every way. And the solar has no tint, and works better, and the dlc black bezel has been beat up and has some barely noticeable scratches, but not like the 7pro sapphire bezel. The 7pro was fancier, and initially looked nicer, but not after the ridiculous amount of scratches it received in less time than I’ve had my 8.
I had the Fenix 6 pro for 4.5 years, and I finally decided to jump on a new watch. I was between the Epix 2 Pro S and Fenix 7 pro SS. Ultimately, I decided on the Fenix, just because of battery life and that the screen is always on, and didn’t really care about the AMOLED screen on the Epix as a determining factor between the choices.
Anyway, this watch is a crazy upgrade from my 6, which I loved, and I love this one even more. I have logged about 10-15 biking, hiking, and running activities, and love all of the stats provided as usual. But I also love (and have found myself using) the flashlight feature and the touch screen. I think these are the main upgrades along with the more accurate heart rate sensor, and these really make a world of difference to the functionality of the watch… as I am using many of the features all the time including music/bluetooth, gps and activitys, on my first charge I got 11 days battery life (7-8% left), with a couple of the days having a decent amount of solar intensity.. so not bad at all. I can imagine the epix would be about 5 days with the same usage for me, so I’m really happy as I was on a week long trip and this watch got through the entire thing.
One last thing, I got a titanium band for this thing, and it looks so awesome. I have the original band which I switch out sometimes for activities, but I really LOVE the look of the titanium… really makes the watch whole. I also put a screen protector on it (not that it needs it), and you really can’t even tell it’s there. I love this watch and would recommend to everyone who doesn’t care about the AMOLED screen. Hoping to at least get 4-5 years out of this one, minimum. 5/5 highly recommend, thanks for reading.

Excellent wrist companion! I especially like the month-long battery charge and sapphire window. Only drawback is the diffuculty in seeing the screen while driving. You have to angle it just right to see it.

Original product with the best price! MIP display takes getting used to especially coming from Apple watch. There are no auto-detect workouts like Apple, which I was used to, overall an excellent product and very expansive.

Bought this watch for my husband for Christmas and he is obsessed. It stays charged for days. The display is customizable and pretty simple to work with. Definitely worth the money. Tracking his workouts are great as well.

I bought this watch thinking it could be used for tracking fitness, sleep, and much more. However, I returned it after only having it a week because the readings were always incorrect. The watch looked great and had such potential. I just could not keep an almost $1,000 watch that cannot even get my heart rate correct, much less any other readings.
After receiving the watch and completing the setup, I fully charged it and wore it non-stop, only taking it off for showers. I found that the heart rate, pulse ox, respiratory rate, and sleep readings were all incorrect all the time. I was sitting at my desk, just reading email, looked at the watch and it showed my heart rate to be in the 120’s. I did a manual check of my heart rate, and it was in the mid-70’s. I started checking the watch often and it was constantly showing my heart rate to be over 100. Every time I would either check with a separate pulse-ox device or check manually and it was always incorrect by at least 30 bpm. Speaking of pulse ox, no matter when I checked it, or what activity I was doing the pulse ox always showed 95%. Every time, no matter what – 95%. When checking with a separate Pulse-Ox device I would always get different readings. Finally, sleep monitoring. Three nights in a row the watch told me I was either in deep sleep or REM sleep at times I was awake, laying in bed reading something on my phone. I would hate to be relying on this watch for the mapping features if it cannot even get a heart rate correct. This was my first and last Garmin watch. I am going back to using my Apple Watch series 4. Yes, the battery sucks but at least it can give me a correct heart rate reading. Garmin really missed the mark on this watch. Don’t waste your money.

* Body battery metric
* Morning summary
* Extended battery life! (soooo much better than every 3 day charging)
* Solar charging (though in the winter it doesn’t do much)
* NFC connection for wallet/payments
* Pro-Pace features
* Better GPS connectivity

Buy it.

Buy it.

Excellent wrist companion! I especially like the month-long battery charge and sapphire window. Only drawback is the diffuculty in seeing the screen while driving. You have to angle it just right to see it.
