Description

Black-ice sections and packed snow no longer decide when you stop riding. These studs put consistent bite under your tires so you hold line, maintain speed, and stay in control when conditions turn treacherous.

BILLY FLAMINGO’S BRAND studs use a lightweight anodized aluminum body to reduce rotating mass. That means snappier steering and acceleration—useful when a mid-ride motor boost meets a slick patch. The concave carbide tip focuses contact force into a smaller area, improving initial grip on ice and extending wear life compared with blunt tips. The kit includes 261 studs—enough for two fat bike tires with spares—so you can outfit a set and keep replacements on hand.

  • – Aluminum stud body reduces rotating mass for quicker acceleration and more responsive handling
  • – Concave carbide tip concentrates bite on ice for stronger traction and longer tip life
  • – 261-piece kit covers two fat bike tires with extra studs for repairs or pattern adjustments
  • – Anodized finish (available in four colors) improves corrosion resistance and adds visual customization
  • – Designed in Anchorage, Alaska, informed by real cold-weather fat-bike experience

Practical for commuters and trail riders alike: these studs perform on packed snow, hard-packed ice, and mixed winter surfaces common on winter trails and urban routes. They pair with fat bike tires that accept removable studs and are well suited to e-bikes, where motor torque and higher speeds make reliable traction essential. The concave carbide geometry helps maintain traction under acceleration and braking, while the aluminum bodies keep overall rotating weight down.

Install a full set and ride with more confidence. Backed by a lifetime replacement warranty and cold-climate design feedback from Anchorage riders, this kit gives you durable, predictable traction without sacrificing handling—so you can extend your season and ride farther into winter.

I ve bought these and no regrets.

  2. Kenneth Mayer –

But I haven’t had the conditions to use yet. Can’t think there will be issues. It’s carbide for goodness sake. Tough

  3. Andrew smith –

This checks all my boxes for carbide and concave PLUS a new box I didn’t know I had (fun colors!!!) I live up North with incredibly limited daylight in the winter—I’ll take a little extra brightness wherever I can. Thanks, Billy Flamingo!

  4. Andrew smith –

Figured these were something special, but there is nothing special about them. I got a set of the cheaper zinc coated ones for the second tire, and they seem to be better than these expensive aluminum ones. They definitively work, but man they are pricey for what they are. If I could do it over, I would have only bought the cheaper ones I got off of Amazon.

  5. Kim V. –

    Good

  6. RJ I Am Groot –

bought a “T” handle install tool and went at it after blowing out and cleaning the holes on tire,, if i had to do it again i would of installed on new bike tire right away rather than wait a year,, but the studs seated in nicely..

  7. RJ I Am Groot –

Excellent quality control and consistency. The studs were easy to install with a magnetic stud installer and some alcohol. The cupped carbide tip on these studs is plenty sharp with 100% stud retention after a 10km ride on pavement to set them. Bring on the snow and ice!!

  8. Marion H. –

So far I have a great impression of these bad boys. I included a few pics for your viewing pleasure. As you can see these new studs stand proud compared to my old worn 45NRTH studs and are also taller than an unused 45NRTH XL concave stud.

They seem to be made of equal quality. The gold coating adds a little flair that is certain to bring some added pleasure to your winter rides. I am giving 5 stars for now based on the assumption they work as well or better than the original tire studs. I will return with an update if my opinion changes.

    Ride on!

It’s doing the job well on my Fat kibe and cheaper than some well known brand. (45___) /. Ça fait le travail très bien sur mon Fat et moins cher que l’autre marque bien connu (45….)

  10. Marion H. –

Got blue. Now I’m blue cuz the color wore off. After 2 rides. They look exactly like my other regular studs. What did I buy?

What fantastic studs; good investment. I like that these are concave and slightly narrower, and slighlty taller than other I’ve seen. The grip performance on ice is really good and works well through snow too. A friend switched out his studs to these ones and he was very happy with his pick.

Quality concave carbide tipped studs. Dipped in rubbing alcohol makes for easy secure insertion into semi inflated studdable fat tires. Two packs of 251 fully covers Gnarwhal 27.5×4.5 tires for secure riding in dicey conditions. Purchased in Trek store.

  15. DENNIS KOWSKIE –

    Worked perfectly. 💪

  16. Mountaingoat –

These are great tire studs for a fat bike at a fair price. Grip well in ice, as good as 45 North studs of the same design.

  17. Dennis W –

Studs are made with aluminum body, and tungsten tip, in multiple colors, so that’s nice. Tip can come out of the body, leaving just an aluminum nub in your tire. A handful of studs came out of the tires over the season, but probably not a fault of the stud.

I installed these on the rear tire of my fatbike and rode down the sidewalks for a few hundred meters to “bed them in”. I then proceeded to ride them in a weel known area. the snow ended up being too deep to really get much riding in but the seemed to get good traction. Most importantly, the studs stayed in. Looks like they’re good to ride

  21. Dennis W –

Although the price is great, the color wore off most of the studs within a few rides. Studs work well, as expected.

I installed these after a spill on solid ice on a flooded trail. So while I was hobbling around recovering i installed some of these. Easy to install but tedious work. I have a new found confidence on ice and hard pack. One thing to bear in mind – drive them on pavement for a few km to bed in. Similar to a studded snow machine track – studs on a fat bike are a game changer …..

Works perfectly with my 45NRTH tool. The colour is a nice touch but not really noticeable once installed into the tire.
